FOLTERM Uno Reflective Thermal Insulation – High-Performance Radiant Barrier
FOLTERM Uno is a cutting-edge reflective thermal insulation material designed to significantly reduce heat loss in buildings by utilising the principle of radiant heat reflection. Unlike traditional insulation materials such as mineral wool, FOLTERM Uno features a reflective surface made from metallised polyester film that reflects up to 90% of infrared radiation (thermal energy), which is responsible for around 75% of total heat loss in a building.
Thanks to its low emissivity and high reflectivity, FOLTERM Uno acts as a highly efficient radiant barrier, helping you improve your home or building’s energy efficiency and reduce heating costs. It also absorbs approximately 1% of heat energy, further enhancing its thermal performance.
For optimal results, the reflective insulation should be installed with air gaps of at least 20mm on either side. These air cavities significantly enhance the reflective effect, helping to create a more effective thermal envelope.
Multi-Layered Design for Maximum Performance
FOLTERM Uno is composed of a core polyethylene layer containing air bubbles, sealed within durable film. Both sides are coated with highly reflective metallised foil, ensuring maximum infrared radiation reflection. This structure makes it one of the best choices for modern insulation, particularly in applications where space is limited.
At just 3mm thick, FOLTERM Uno delivers insulation performance comparable to approximately 50mm of mineral wool, making it a smart and space-saving solution for roofs, walls, floors, garages, conservatories, and more. It is lightweight, easy to cut, and simple to install, whether you’re a professional builder or a DIY enthusiast.
